Teach to Lead

Launched in 2014, the Teach to Lead initiative was created by experienced educators with the goal of advancing student achievement by expanding opportunities for teachers to lead change and improvement in the policies and programs that affect their work without having to leave the classroom.

The initiative is lead by the U.S. Department of Education, Teach Plus, and ASCD, and is supported by more than 180 diverse Supporting Organizations.

Teach to Lead's work is based in a belief that teachers are experts in schools and instruction, and as such, should be supported to lead the key changes and innovations that their students, colleagues and profession deserve to do their best work every day.

Teach to Lead contributes to this work by shining a spotlight on teacher leaders and providing resources, facilitating stakeholder consultation, and encouraging professional collaborations to develop and amplify their work.
